Fed: North Korean artists brushed off

Six North Korean artists have been banned from entering Australia and visiting Queensland's
premier contemporary art exhibition.

The artists are exhibiting at Brisbane's 6th Asia-Pacific Triennial and were invited
by the Queensland Art Gallery to explain their work to audiences.

Foreign Affairs Minister STEPHEN SMITH's office says the artists' studio .. Mansudae
Art Studio .. produces propaganda for North Korean leader KIM JONG-IL.

Australia's visa ban on North Korean nationals was introduced in 2006.
