Fed: 60 Minutes journo fails to win damages from Media Watch=3

In a statement read outside the court, ABC lawyer Ross Duncan said the national broadcasterconsidered the judgment a victory for the right to express honest and robust opinion.

"There were clearly important matters of principle involved in this case and the ABC'sefforts to defend the program have been fully vindicated," he said.

"The ability to voice strong opinions about all matters of public interest, includingthe standards of national current affairs programs like 60 Minutes, is vitally importantnot just to programs like Media Watch but to every Australian."
